I thnk this shows how the prayers of most JW's reflect the party line and not heartfelt expressions. Remember these gems, "we approach you in the name of your son and our redeemer, Jesus Christ", or "Through the ransom and our redeemer Jesus Christ" and of course, "we thank you for the many blessing we enjoy..." the usual drivel. Kids can hear the repetition and likely miss it.

Kids say the darndest things.
by Open mind incute little story i thought you might enjoy.
my teenage, non-true-believing son was recently baby sitting for some jw relatives so they could enjoy a nice evening dining out with my wife and i. the jw parents of the little kids are very liberal and we enjoy their company from time to time.
anyway, my son had just one ethical dilemma facing him as he contemplated his evening with the kids.

"Black boys are kids too" what the hell sort of quote is that? It happened in North Carolina so perhaps that's why his race is important. The whole thing is pathetic.

Do you think that we are in the last days?
by stuckinamovement indo you think that we are in the last days?
i really don't think we are in the last days.
i came to the conclusion that 1914 is false and is no more than another year in man's history, so hence we are not living in the last days prophesied by jesus.

A young sister disassociated herself and when asked why she answered: "I just think there are too many things we are not allowed to do and I'm tired of being told what to think and what to do. I want to enjoy life and I can't do that as a Jehovah's Witness so there you have it." I admired her even when I was still indoctrinated, at least she wasn't half assed like most others. It was distrubing because I think that even then I agreed with her.

todays WT study...the picture...?
by stillin ini wish i could scan it and get your thoughts.
it was a picture of a happy group of witnesses during a meeting for field service.
there was a. comment from a local high-horse-rider about a brother in the front row in the picture being disobedient.

If it's the one without the book and questions printed out its ironic that all he has on his lap is an OPEN Bible! Apostate!

What's The Biggest Difference In Today's JWs And The Witnesses From Decades Ago?
by minimus ini believe today's witnesses lack zeal, resolve, "love" of the "truth"......just to name a few things.. years ago, witnesses were excited to knock on doors and tell people they were gonna die if they didn't accept paradise.. now, when you see jws in service, they all look zombied out.. it's a slowly dying religion that will last probably forever like an ancient rotted out tree..

In the early days "New Light" inspired confidence in the whole scheme. Now it is laughable and unquestioning allegiance is required OR ELSE. It just wasn't quite so militant in days passed. The tighter the squeeze on personal liberties the greater the resistance. It's only natural.

How did it feel to be loved by True Christians at the Kingdom Hall?
by AvocadoJake inthe love practiced by those in the kingdom hall, how can we describe it?
there are so many (yeah, there are quite a few who have intense hatred and not love.
) witnesses who hate each other, families who call down evil on each other, they wish their mother, father, brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, grandkids, nephews, nieces were dead.

It sounds like he made some defiant choices that lead to this untimely death; "Hickem did the things expected of a "typical" teenager, such as sneaking out of his window after his father told him to stay home," "...wasn't supposed to be at the Cosmopolitan Park skate park when police responded to a call about minors drinking and smoking Nov. 11 because he had been issued a prior one-year tresspass warning" and then ran away when confronted. All these actions are the primary contributors to his passing. Young people think they are immortal and they don't think of the dangers of life. They are impulsive and sadly a few run out of luck. It was usually those without respect for authority who were "typically" sneaking out of windows when told to stay home. I knew of only one who did that when I was growing up and I was not raised a witness. Will anyone learn from James mistakes? It makes one really think about how our choices affect our lives. Sorry for your loss.
